Mark Kogos B. Arts (Economics)/ LLB (Auckland); M. Commerce Law (Auckland) Mark has 25 years experience in the finance and mergers and acquisitions industry, including sourcing, structuring, arranging and implementing domestic and cross border finance and M&A transactions for major Australian and international corporate groups and domestic financial institutions. Mark was Director in charge of Corporate Structured Finance at National Australia Bank, Head of the Trans-Tasman Desk at PricewaterhouseCoopers whilst starting his career as a banking lawyer with Minter Ellison in Auckland New Zealand.

Having obtained a qualifications in Arts/Law and a Master of Commercial Law from the University of Auckland, Mark has had a career in the finance and mergers & acquisitions industry, having implemented transactions for self managed enterprises at the start-up phase through to major Australian and international corporate groups. Mark was formerly with National Australia Bank and PwC’s M&A/ITS Team.

Mark has a history of early stage investing in tech focused start-ups in both Australia and New Zealand, including Commsoft which listed on ASX and Plexure Ltd which listed on the NZX and now the ASX. 

Mark commenced his legal career with Minter Ellison (formerly Rudd Watts & Stone) as a member of the firm’s banking and commercial practice In 1995, Mark joined Pricewaterhouse Coopers International Tax Practice from Ernst & Young’s before moving to Sydney in 2000 to specialising in cross border M&A and funding transactions between Australia and New Zealand.

In 2003, Mark became the director in charge of Corporate Structured Finance at National Australia Bank during which time he worked with a range of Australia’s major corporate and financial groups.

In 2007 Mark joined a boutique South African M&A house and specialised in cross border financial solutions between South Africa and Australia during which he obtained a strong working knowledge of the South African regulatory environment.

Over the past 25 years, Mark has worked on major transactions involving Qantas, CSR, Macquarie Bank, CBA, NAB, Pacific Brands/CVC, Origin Energy, US Office Products, BHP Steel, AMP, Holcim Cement.

All aspects of equity raising, debt structuring, structured and hybrid capital, securitisation and structured finance both domestic and cross border for corporate and institutional clients.

Mark is entitled to practice as a solicitor and barrister in New Zealand
